Your Role
In your role as College Principal, you will oversee a dynamic, Residential and Day college environment. This setting is specifically designed for students aged 16 and above who require specialist further education. The college serves individuals with learning or communication difficulties, offering integrated therapy and behaviour support via a multi-disciplinary team. You will work with a highly supportive team of Specialist Tutors and Learning Support Workers. The role also involves partnering with local charities and employers, creating meaningful opportunities for students and ensuring a supportive, inclusive environment that maximizes educational and personal growth.
Duties
As College Principal, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the college. This includes managing the main college site as well as satellite locations in Cumbria, Lancashire, and West Sussex. You will also play a key role in driving the development of a new state-of-the-art college building in Lancaster. Key responsibilities include:
- Enabling operational and financial oversight to ensure excellent outcomes across all locations
- Providing direct support to tutors, staff, and students, ensuring high standards are maintained
- Driving further growth and development, while preserving the individuality of each location
- Increasing engagement with local and surrounding Local Authorities
- Ensuring compliance with HR, H&S regulations, and risk management
